Bad weather.

This paddock has been half eaten by the cows - the before and after

Hi everyone it's Sophie here this winter has been very terrible.  We have had so much rain instead of puddles we have lakes!

We try to keep all the calves under  shelter to keep them warm.  We put down calf bedding for them.  It is made from wooden shavings.  In the shed we feed them milk and meal.  They also have access to fresh water.

 The padocks are very muddy,
here is some photos.

Here is my brother checking on the calves

Calving Season 2018

Welcome back everyone.  Sorry I haven’t  posted in forever. Here in 2018 we have had a busy calving season.  We have new pets!

I have a new lamb called Candy Floss.  My brother and sisters lambs are Pringles and Lightning.  My little sisters lamb will be arriving this week and is a sister to mine.

We have decided not to do calves this year as we M.Bovis diease in NZ (but not where we live) so we don’t want to increase the risk of it spreading.

Luckily, we have had a highland calf born on my Nana’s farm.  She is going to stay with us on our farm.  Her name is Missy.

Here is a little video hope you injoy
